Christy I. Wenger, Ph.D., is a TQP Program Officer and Education Program Specialist with the United States Department of Education. She joined the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education with 13 years of experience in education administration, teacher development, and instruction. As a former Dean and professor in higher education, Christy led many programs and departments, including Education, Liberal Arts, and Social Sciences. She also led K-16 teacher preparation and developed educational partnerships between universities, K-12 districts, and community stakeholders. Before joining the Department, Christy completed her Doctorate in English, Rhetoric and Composition with a focus in administration, effective pedagogy, and teacher preparation. She previously taught at universities in West Virginia and Michigan.
